Orthodontic aligners

Dental aligners, which are becoming more popular today, are an effective alternative to braces. If you would like to correct your smile, aligners are the preferred method to correct your bite. Aligners are transparent biomedical plastic moulds made from the client's dental arch, which are uniquely manufactured using 3D technology for each individual patient. Compared to braces, aligners are less visible and more comfortable to wear, while allowing effective correction of teeth.

Advantages of aligners:

  •   Are transparent and almost invisible
  •   Easy to remove for eating and brushing your teeth
  •   Thanks to the shape that follows the teeth, results are quickly achievable
  •   Require fewer visits to the dentist
  •   More comfortable than braces and easier to clean

What an aligner treatment is

Aligner treatment gradually corrects the position of your teeth, but to do so it must be worn for at least 22 hours a day. Aligners are only removed for eating and brushing your teeth. Aligners need to be changed every few weeks. Each new aligner puts a little more pressure on the teeth and moves the teeth more and more into the desired position.

At Kristina Kiisa Dental Clinic we use high quality Modern Clear aligners. The length of the treatment depends on how many teeth need to be corrected. On average, it takes 6 months to complete the treatment, but it can take longer. The exact length of treatment can be determined after the first visit once a treatment plan has been carried out.

What you need to know about aligners usage

Be sure to remove the aligners when eating and brushing your teeth. Do not drink coffee, tea or any other flavoured beverages while aligners are in your mouth. You can drink only clean water when having aligner in the mouth.

Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss at least once a day.

What is the price of the aligner treatment

The price of the aligner treatment depends on the amount of tooth correction needed and whether one or both teeth need to be corrected. The treatment starts with a consultation. At the first appointment, we will take panoramic photographs and review the condition of your teeth. After that, we will draw up a treatment plan with a price estimate.
