Root canal treatment under a microscope
Endodontic treatment, or root canal treatment, is a procedure that needs to be done when inflammation has occurred in the tooth cavity. During root canal treatment, the root canal is cleaned and filled with filling material. Treatment helps prevent the spread of inflammation and preserve your teeth. In our clinic, root canal treatment is performed by Dr. Robert Boyd.
What are the root canal treatment indications?
Symptoms of root canal inflammation include pain, sensitivity of the tooth to heat and cold, darkening of the color of the tooth, sensation of the tooth being higher than the neighbouring ones, pain and swelling in the gum bordering the tooth. Sometimes a root canal may be necessary even if there are no symptoms.
Inflammation of the tooth cavity, or tooth nerve, is most often caused by untreated cavities, which is why it is important to visit the dentist regularly, even if there are no symptoms. Inflammation can also be caused by a tooth or root fracture or a crack in the tooth.
The main goal of root canal treatment is to prevent the spread of inflammation. If the root treatment is not performed, the inflammation may spread to the jaw and an abscess may form.
What tooth root canal treatment looks like
Before root canal treatment, we always take panoramic photos of the client's teeth, after which we can assess how far the inflammation has spread and whether it is possible to save the tooth.
We also perform root canal treatment with a microscope
Root canal treatment with a microscope is the most accurate and modern method in modern root canal treatment. Thanks to the precision of the microscope, we can perform root canal cleaning and filling with the utmost accuracy to ensure the best results for you.
Root tip surgery
Acute root tip inflammation is characterized by severe pain, especially when eating or clenching the teeth. The pain can occur in one tooth or radiate to other teeth. Inflammation of the root tip can be accompanied by swollen gums and pus or abscess. Fever is also common.
Chronic root tip inflammation can progress without causing pain and other complaints or can show occasional pain. Chronic root tip inflammation is usually diagnosed with an X-ray, where the inflammation can be clearly seen.
A fistula may have formed on the gum, from which pus is coming out from time to time. Good dental health affects the condition of the whole body.
