Symptoms of root canal inflammation include pain, sensitivity of the tooth to heat and cold, darkening of the color of the tooth, sensation of the tooth being higher than the neighbouring ones, pain and swelling in the gum bordering the tooth. Sometimes a root canal may be necessary even if there are no symptoms. <\/p>\n

Inflammation of the tooth cavity, or tooth nerve, is most often caused by untreated cavities, which is why it is important to visit the dentist regularly, even if there are no symptoms. Inflammation can also be caused by a tooth or root fracture or a crack in the tooth. <\/p>\n

The main goal of root canal treatment is to prevent the spread of inflammation. If the root treatment is not performed, the inflammation may spread to the jaw and an abscess may form.

Root tip surgery<\/b><\/h2>\n

What is an inflammation around the root tip (or the apex) of a tooth? Inflammation of the tooth root tip occurs when the tooth nerve is shortened and microbes penetrate further through the tip of the tooth root into the tissues surrounding the tooth. It is not always possible to eliminate it with regular root canal treatment and therefore a root tip surgery must be performed. 

Acute root tip inflammation is characterized by severe pain, especially when eating or clenching the teeth. The pain can occur in one tooth or radiate to other teeth. Inflammation of the root tip can be accompanied by swollen gums and pus or abscess. Fever is also common. 

Chronic root tip inflammation can progress without causing pain and other complaints or can show occasional pain. Chronic root tip inflammation is usually diagnosed with an X-ray, where the inflammation can be clearly seen. 

A fistula may have formed on the gum, from which pus is coming out from time to time. Good dental health affects the condition of the whole body.

It is important to know that root tip inflammation needs treatment, regardless of whether it causes pain or not. It is especially important for people with reduced immunity or suffering from cardiovascular or joint diseases.

Root tip surgery is a surgical removal of the tip of an inflamed tooth root under anesthesia so that the tooth itself remains in the mouth.<\/div>\n
